COVID-19 Emotional Well-being support

You are not alone.

For those of you who don't know, I'm Mic and I am a Creative Arts and Play Therapist.

Usually this blog focuses on a simple tip or message each month to help build familial relationships and develop understanding.

I had a blog post scheduled just like that for this month, but in light of recent, global events, I have changed things up; and that entry will be published at a later date when its contents will be more relevant for you.

When I am not writing this blog, I work with clients in a Primary school three days a week. With the school closures in effect from the end of last month, I suddenly found myself unable to connect with them, their families and my colleagues at the school.

Schools across the country, indeed the world, have really risen to the challenge of educating our children from their homes where they can be safe, but what of their emotional needs? What of yours?

To try and bridge this gap, while the schools are closed, my colleague Kate and I decided to create a support package that would offer families bitesize pieces of information to support their emotional well-being in isolation. This idea sparked three weeks ago, has now become a fully fledged FREE, digital, Emotional Well-being care-package delivered to subscribers' inboxes every Tuesday with sections on Mindfulness, Nutrition, Self-care, Yoga and Physical exercise, Art and craft activities for Key Stage 1 and 2 as well as Guided relaxations and music to soothe your family environment.

So this month, rather than sharing something you can do at home, I am sharing something I have done at home, for you, for free, for as long as the schools stay closed. Kate and I (INDIGO Therapeutic Services) really hope that you can find some support and even enjoyment from our initiative in these difficult times.

If you would like to request previous issues that have already been released, just let us know in the email and we will get them to you too.

At a time when we are all separated, we hope this resource can bring us together.

In the meantime, take care of yourselves.

Mic
